Manchester City deny Haaland sale To Real Madrid

Manchester City Consider Legal Action After Real Madrid Presidential Candidate’s Haaland Claims
MANCHESTER — Manchester City are reportedly weighing legal options after controversial remarks made by Real Madrid presidential candidate Enrique Riquelme regarding the future of striker Erling Haaland.
The dispute emerged after Riquelme, speaking during a televised appearance as part of his election campaign, claimed that Haaland has a release clause in his contract and is eager to join Real Madrid. The comments quickly drew a strong reaction from the Premier League champions, who have dismissed the statements as entirely unfounded.
A Manchester City spokesperson issued a firm response, rejecting the claims and warning that the club could pursue legal measures over the matter.
“Reports coming from Spain are completely false,” the spokesperson said. “There is no contractual clause that would allow such a scenario. We are also reviewing potential legal action related to the unauthorized use of the player’s image in this context.”
The controversy has not only prompted a response from Manchester City but also from Haaland’s representatives. According to reports relayed by journalist Fabrizio Romano, both the striker’s father, Alf-Inge Haaland, and his agent, Rafaela Pimenta, have denied the speculation surrounding a potential move to Madrid.
“All of it is interesting, but it is simply not true,” the pair reportedly stated. “We wish all the candidates the best of luck.”
The incident comes at a sensitive moment for Real Madrid, where a closely watched presidential election is underway. Long-time president Florentino Pérez is facing an unexpected challenge from Riquelme, creating one of the club’s most competitive leadership contests in recent years.
Transfer speculation and ambitious promises aimed at winning voter support have increasingly become part of the campaign narrative. However, the latest claims involving Haaland have generated controversy beyond the political arena, drawing the attention of both Manchester City and the player’s camp.
With the election still unresolved, uncertainty surrounding potential future projects at the Santiago Bernabéu has fueled debate among supporters and observers alike. For now, both Manchester City and Haaland’s representatives appear determined to shut down any suggestion that a transfer to Real Madrid is currently under discussion.
